Ultimate Lightning in the U.S.A.

I am not sure who died and has now left and made me General,
but I am honoured to represent many excellent American
Ultimate Lightning players that often play on the Metaforge website.
I think many of us are new to the game and are just getting used to some
of the options that are standard in U.L., and that may make us the most
dangerous opponents… especially in the years to come.
Rupes guide to playing U.L. in the U.S.A.
We would hope that all would feel welcomed to try playing
Ultimate Lightning and hope you will come to love it as much as many of us do.
What is foremost in making Ultimate Lightning and Classic Stratego two
completely different games altogether? Perhaps it is the
thrill of playing U.L. and the excitement and anticipation of winning or the
dreaded fright of being only 1 space away from utter destruction or losing
that seems to separate these two seemingly similar games.
So, if you are stuck in your ways or afraid the heart-pounding thrills
of Ultimate Lightning are just too much for ‘the old ticker’-- then just ease
that recliner or Lazy-Boy back, take that extra swig of Geritol or Metamucil
and keep playing good old Classic Stratego. After all, you
just need to get up a couple higher ranked pieces in Classic Stratego, and the
game is probably yours. But if the thrill of coming from
behind and stomping that guy sitting on the other side of the board or
computer that feels all ‘smug’ because he has a couple more pieces on his side
of the board is something that interests you, give U.L. shot.
Of course, there are plenty of us around willing to give you some tips
or lessons if you need and we hope that this website will be of assistance in
that area as well.

If you are an experienced American U.L. player and you are
looking for some good hearty fun or a real challenge, give us a try.
And through this cooperative effort led by UnderGround /Ace, we hope
that an association and friendship will also lead to many enjoyable and
challenging tournaments that will give both the new up-and-comers as well as
the old aces the venue to strut their stuff. So American
U.L. Players… like the old Uncle Sam poster states… We Need You!
We Need You…
